Singapore National Day Celebrated at Expo 2025 Osaka Senior Minister Lee Affirms Strong Singapore–Japan Friendship


25 August 2025, Osaka — During Expo 2025 Osaka, the Singapore Pavilion recently hosted a National Day celebration, drawing Singaporeans living in Japan, students, and business representatives together to commemorate the nation’s 60th year of independence.

 

Singapore’s Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong attended the event and joined guests in celebrating this significant milestone. In his address, he highlighted the long-standing close cooperation and friendship between Singapore and Japan, noting the strong foundations built in the areas of economy, technology, and cultural exchange. He emphasized that such bonds of friendship, spanning cultures and generations, should be treasured and will continue to be deepened in the future.

 

The celebration was marked by a festive and lively atmosphere, with participants waving Singapore flags and singing the national anthem, reflecting a profound sense of national pride. The event also demonstrated the role of the Singapore Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka as a platform for diverse exchanges, fostering understanding and connections among people from different countries and regions.
