Over 95% of Migrant Workers in Singapore Report High Satisfaction; Labor Rights Protection Efforts Receive Positive Feedback

22 August 2025 – A recently released survey shows that more than 95% of migrant workers in Singapore are satisfied with their work and living conditions. This figure reflects a significant improvement in the recognition of work environment, living standards, and rights protection among the migrant worker community, sending a positive signal for the healthy development of Singapore’s labor market.

Migrant workers constitute an important part of Singapore’s workforce. Their rising satisfaction levels generally indicate that measures to safeguard their rights, as well as improvements in working and living conditions, have proven effective. According to the survey, workers gave consistently high ratings in key areas such as workplace safety, housing conditions, and salary and benefits. Analysts believe this trend is closely linked to Singapore’s continued efforts in enhancing the protection framework for foreign workers and promoting the standardization of labor conditions.

As a multicultural society, Singapore has long been committed to balancing economic growth with social inclusion. The improvement in migrant worker satisfaction reflects the effectiveness of governance in protecting the legal rights of foreign workers and fostering social integration. Relevant authorities stated that they will continue to monitor the actual needs of the migrant worker community, and through policy refinements and cross-agency collaboration, further consolidate the progress achieved.

At present, Singapore’s labor market remains stable, and the positive feedback from migrant workers injects momentum into social harmony and sustainable economic development. While the longer-term impact will require observation in conjunction with broader socio-economic factors, the survey results objectively highlight the interim achievements of labor rights protection efforts.
