From June to July 2025, the Berlin China Cultural Center hosted three interactive cultural experience activities, attracting school students from across Germany who traveled hundreds of kilometers to take part. Through these events, young participants from Dresden, Brunswick, and Berlin gained firsthand experience of traditional Chinese culture.
Students tried their hand at crafting Palace Museum-style beadwork, learning intangible cultural heritage skills firsthand. They stretched mind and body in martial arts sessions, explored cultural connections in the library through Chinese and German books, and shared warmth through the making—and tasting—of Chinese dumplings.
For younger children, the “Giant Panda Workshop” combined fun cartoon shorts and coloring activities to spark curiosity while imparting knowledge about ecological protection and China’s national treasure. Laughter filled the room as the children learned through play—gaining not only handmade souvenirs and culinary experience, but also building a bridge to understanding Chinese history, art, and daily life.
Accompanying teachers praised the program for “opening a window to culture in such a lively way.” Through these immersive interactions, the Berlin China Cultural Center is strengthening people-to-people bonds between China and Germany, with youth leading the way in writing a new chapter of cross-cultural friendship.
